Tom Ellis has had a long career as an active researcher specialising in evaluation and action research. He published the first major evaluation study on the introduction, use and evaluation of personal issue body worn video cameras with Hampshire Police. He is currently researching the use of body cameras in mental health settings, where they have been effective in reducing the seriousness of interventions required in incidents involving patients. He is also currently exploring the use of body cameras in schools.
